Corporate groups
Create portfolios
Portfolios let you group companies into folders so you can manage them together — filtering companies, contacts, and follow-up tasks in one view.
What portfolios are
A portfolio is a named group of companies. Think of it as a folder you assign companies to. A few things to know before you start:
- Account-wide — portfolios are shared across all administrator users. Every admin on your account can see all portfolios, regardless of who created them.
- Single membership — a company can only belong to one portfolio
- Admins only — only users with the Administrator role can create and manage portfolios
- No permissions — being in a portfolio does not affect who has access to the companies inside it. Access is managed per company as usual.
Default portfolios
dCompany includes four default portfolios to get you started:
- All companies — every company you administer
- Administration — operational companies
- Board positions — companies where you hold a board seat
- Investments — companies where you are a passive investor
Create a new portfolio
- Click the portfolio name in the top-left corner to open the portfolio selector.
- Select + New portfolio at the bottom of the dropdown.
- Enter a Name in the dialog. You become the portfolio manager, with authority to add and remove companies from it.
- Click Submit.
Use a portfolio as a global context
Once you select a portfolio, the Companies, Follow up, and Contacts views all filter to show only the companies in that portfolio. This makes it easy to focus on one segment of your group at a time.
Select All companies to go back to an unfiltered view.
