Statements and reporting

Shareholder register statement

Every Norwegian limited company must submit an annual shareholder register statement (aksjonærregisteroppgaven) to Skatteetaten by 31 January. dCompany automates the entire process — from maintaining the underlying data throughout the year to submitting the report at the click of a button.

Why use dCompany for this

The shareholder register statement is only as accurate as the register behind it. Because dCompany maintains your register continuously — logging every transaction, share class change, and shareholder update as it happens — the statement is effectively ready before the filing period even opens.

dCompany covers all 19+ transaction types, including complex corporate events such as mergers, demergers, and splits. It is the most comprehensive solution available for Norwegian companies.

Once you submit, dCompany tracks the status from Skatteetaten and surfaces any rejections or errors directly in the interface — so you never have to log into external systems to check what happened.

Before your first submission

Submitting through dCompany requires system access to the shareholder register service in Altinn. This is a one-time setup per company.

You need:

  • The Daglig leder, Styreleder, or Tilgangsstyring role in Altinn
  • Administrator access in dCompany for the company you are filing for

To grant system access:

  1. Open the Shareholder register module and go to the Shareholder register statement tab
  2. Select the relevant reporting year
  3. Click the Review tab and select Grant system access in Altinn
  4. Authenticate with BankID and approve the access

Once granted, all dCompany administrators for that company can submit future statements without repeating this step.

Submitting the statement

When the filing period opens (typically 1 December), dCompany displays a notification at the top of the Shareholder register statement tab.

  1. Go to Shareholder registerShareholder register statement
  2. Select the current reporting year
  3. Review the data — transactions, shareholders, and share classes are pre-populated from the register
  4. Click New submission

dCompany sends the statement directly to Skatteetaten. The status updates to Sent once the submission is confirmed.

The submission overview

The Shareholder register statement tab shows all reporting years for your company in a table:

ColumnWhat it shows
Reporting yearThe calendar year the statement covers
StatusNot sent / Sent / Approved / Rejected
Deadline31 January of the following year
SubmittedDate and time the submission was sent
Submitted byThe administrator who triggered the submission

Use the All reporting years filter to see previous years, and Latest submission only to hide resubmissions.

If a submission is rejected, the error message from Skatteetaten appears inline — fix the underlying data in the register and resubmit.
